Fab Feng Shui Do-it-Yourself Centerpiece
November 03, 2008 - Linda Grasso
Beverly Seehoff may live in LA, but she has never forgotten
her South African roots. In fact,
she was thinking about South African fabric designer Helen Deleeuw when she got
the idea for this amazing dining room table arrangement. Deleeuw is well known for her pinwheel
designs on linen. “I've always
loved the way they look. And when
I was walking up in the Santa Monica mountains one morning, I saw this piece of
chaparral blowing in the wind and thought that it resembled one of Deleeuw’s
designs.” Seehoff grabbed a pair
of gloves (lots of thorns on chaparral) and grabbed the dry brush, thinking she
would make an arrangement out of it. “I am having about 40 people here for
Thanksgiving and I just thought it would look stunning on the table.” Seehoff gave the arrangement a feng shui
feel,
“I incorporated the elements of feng shui: fire, water and stones. I like the way the water counter balances the dryness of the brush. It looks pretty in the day, but at night, when I light the candles, I just love it.” We do too. Here’s here step-by-step guide for Bev’s do-it-yourself centerpiece:
*Get something outside – whether it be chaparral, pine branches or dried wood.
*Select a more modern glass vase – preferably rectangular in shape. Put stones in the bottom.
*Shape the brush or twigs with cutting shears - starting from the bottom. You need to make sure the bottom will fit nicely in your vase. After you’ve shaped it, put it in the vase. Now, stand back and take a look. Make sure it has a uniform height and an appealing shape.
*Fill glass votives with water and float round mini candles on the top. Surround your arrangement with the votives.

Very good tips and viewpoint. Usually the success of a business or a site comes from your own hands also. Think wisely and positive. Thanks for having it here.. :)
