Found: The Elusive Daytime Dress

3.1 Phillip Lim cascading ruffle dress plum $675
Chic daytime dresses are hard to find. And if you do find one, it is frequently boring and uninspiring. Every woman should have at least one daytime dress in her closet to wear for events like a charity luncheon, a bridal shower, a funeral, a Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony or a "business" cocktail party. Today I found some great daytime dresses while shopping at Barneys CO-OP designer RTW. The Phillip Lim dress shown above would be appropriate for all those occasions mentioned with the exception of wearing it to a funeral.
Hanii Y abstract check dress black/white $580
This Hanii Y dress is quite fabulous in person. The designer uses the same print in a silk on the top and in a tweed for the skirt.
Hanii Y double layered lace dress $560
Again the designer uses a subtle navy glen plaid underneath a sheer organza on the top and then underneath a lace for the skirt. It's quite genius!
Hanii Y shift dress black $450
This wool dress is so well designed. It also comes in a berry color. It has a slight padded shoulder and tailored bow belt that has just the right amount of sophistication and timelessness that would be perfect for so many occasions through the years.
Diane von Furstenberg Clancy dress $385
This picture doesn't do this dress justice. It's classic with a twist. It's fitted, yet forgiving. It says power and sexy all in one piece. If you have a presentation to give, this dress will give you that extra edge you want!

I like this black long sleeve dress looks formal and simple yet sexy.
